“The shower of blossoms in Kyoto”

In spring, many tourists visit Kyoto to see cherry blossoms from all over the world. There are a lot of major viewing spots to see cherry blossoms in Kyoto such as Maruyama park, Koudaiji Temple, Kiyomizu Temple, Heian Jingu Shrine, Arashiyama and Philososher’s Walk　(Tetsugaku no michi). Generally speaking, cherry blossoms usually bloom for only about one week though it depends on its type. Now, you can see very beautiful the shower of blossoms around Kyoto.

“Kyoto Higashiyama Hanatouro”

“Kyoto Higashiyama Hanatouro” has become new feature in Kyoto. It started to hold from 2003. In this event, the 4.6 km walking pathleading to the foothills of Higashiyama Mountain is decorated by about 2400 lanterns. There are six different kinds of lanterns such as Kyo and Kiyomizu ceramics, Kyomei bamboo, Kitayamasugi round cedar wood, Kyo stone art, the lacquer-coated lanterns and metal art. These are really beautiful and fantastic. Moreover, you can also enjoy the special night-time illumination at shrines and temples in this season at the same time. How about visiting shrines and temples?
